  • We are delighted to announce that Azimap has been appointed by the Crown Commercial Service to supply cloud-based GIS (Geographic Information System) and services to the UK public sector. Under the G-Cloud 8 Framework, Azimap can supply a range of SaaS (Software as a Service) location based services which includes but not restricted to the following -
“Location-data offers an unending variety of personalised applications and services within the public sector. Many local authorities are now turning to GIS and location based software to analyse and interpret data to make informed strategic decisions at both operational and management levels. Cloud-based GIS and location based services provides the public sector organisations with the opportunity to become more efficient, reduce lead times, reduced risks, improve cross-functional collaboration and make informed strategic decisions.”

Explains David McQuillan, Director, Azimap.

The G-Cloud framework agreement award covers “Software as a Service” (SaaS) technology services, making it easier for buyers to find and purchase services. This provides organisations within the public sector with the opportunity to buy services directly via the G-Cloud framework without having to proceed via the traditional procurement process, as the open procurement for each of the frameworks has been conducted via the G-Cloud application process.

“Securing our place on the G-Cloud 8 framework agreement, reaffirms our commitment and dedication to the continuous development of Azimap to meet the demands of both public and private sector organisation. This award cements the companies and team dedication to developing an innovate, flexible and scalable Cloud-based GIS, based on open source principles and continuing the delivery of auxiliary location based services”.

David McQuillan, concluded.
