Azimap

LiDAR feature recognition Using GIS

With 17 years’ experience in the GI sector, Envo-GEO (Environmental Geoinformatics) specialise in providing GIS, remote sensing and 3D environmental data modelling solutions to public, private and research clients throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Project Name

LiDAR feature recognition product development

Project Outcomes

Development and testing of Envo-Geo LiDAR feature extraction algorithms using UK Environment Agency airborne LiDAR.

How Azimap was used to fulfil project requirements

Azimap provided Envo-Geo with the tools to evaluate the potential for dissemination and spatial analysis of LiDAR sample data.

Using Azimap Envo-Geo displayed multiple layers on a OSM base layer to visualise and analyse their spatial data. Layers contained spatial data to support the analysis of LiDAR (DSM) to measure green space and areas populated with large high rise and industrial units.

High rise and large industrial units were drawn on the map using the polygon tool, allowing administrators to accurately measure key areas in meter square or in hectares.
