Azimap is delighted to announce the integration with what3words, a location reference system based on a global grid of 57 trillion 3m x 3m squares. Each square has been pre-assigned a fixed and unique three-word address.
Using Azimap, users can now search for a location using three-word addresses and display them for any key points of interest. This means that everyone can make the most of their geographic data and communicate any specific location to the world with ease and efficiency.
The what3words integration is currently in beta, with the planned release expected in Summer 2016.
Michael McQuillan, Product Sales Representative of Azimap, explains:
The integration of what3words adds significant value to Azimap, especially for our existing and prospective customers. It provides our clients with the opportunity to market and communicate precise locations which are more memorable to their audience, when compared to traditional location-based coordinates.
In addition, the integration with what3words and Azimap underscores the importance of precise geographic data reporting, particularly with emergency services.
This marks another milestone in Azimap's ongoing product development.
The what3words integration is just one of the many roadmap features that the Azimap team has been developing to enhance the product. Full details of the Summer roadmap release will be announced in the forthcoming weeks.
