Gravis Planning is a market-leading town planning and engagement consultancy throughout the UK and Ireland.
Gravis Planning approached Azimap to discuss the opportunities surrounding the analysis of address-based data, aiming to improve employee efficiency and reduce the risk of human error during street address surveys.
Following discussions and understanding the immediate and future requirements, the Azimap team recommended purchasing pointer data from the Land & Property Services (LPS) and then importing it into Azimap to digitise and analyse according to their project requirements.
Local councils and the Royal Mail maintain pointer data and ensure the data analysed is up-to-date and accurate. Purchasing the LPS data eliminated the need for a manual data capture exercise and removed the potential for human error, thereby creating more accurate reports.
By purchasing the Pointer Data, Gravis Planning were able to achieve the following key benefits:
A definitive and accurate spatial address
Locations assigned Irish Grid Coordinates
Information on multiple occupancy and building use
Full incorporation of townland names
Extension files containing ward names and parliamentary constituency information
Alternative road names in Irish or Ulster Scots, if approved by the local council
In addition to the above, by importing the LLPs data into Azimap, the data analysis team can quickly digitise and analyse the planning impact from a designated point in meters, miles, kilometres, etc., and create planning reports with confidence in the accuracy of the information.
We're delighted to welcome Gravis Planning into the Azimap community.
If you would like to discuss addressing and digitising opportunities, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
