Looking Back Over a Successful First GeoPlace Annual Conference

Last week, we attended our first-ever GeoPlace Annual Conference, the leading event for local government address, street information, and geographic information experts in Great Britain.

The theme of this year's conference was 'Linking people to places' and explored how the connection between data and place can give councils across Britain better insight into an area and its citizens. With a large exhibition space, GeoPlace provided an excellent opportunity for Azimap colleagues to network directly with a relevant and engaged audience in the British market, showcasing the latest Azimap product updates and improvements.

GeoPlace Exhibition

Andrew and David were on the Azimap stand this year to provide delegates with personalised demonstrations of Azimap. In particular, we were able to showcase our experience working with local government, helping to improve performance, drive efficiencies, and enhance services. As this was our first-ever visit to GeoPlace, our stand was busy throughout the entire day, as delegates were keen to learn more about Azimap and experience firsthand the benefits that we can deliver to Local Government Authorities.

Delegates were impressed with the interoperability of Azimap, the advanced suite of tools available within a cloud-based GIS and the ability to integrate the system throughout an entire council. Also on display at the conference were the latest Azimap updates, including the new Public Data Library, as well as information about our GIS and Remote Sensing services.

GeoPlace Roundtable

At this year's conference, Azimap were also awarded the opportunity to host a roundtable discussion session. Our session was focused on the topic of 'Healthy Incentives for a Healthy Environment' and aimed to explore the use of GI in overcoming barriers that prevent activity and a healthy attitude in areas of deprivation. David chaired our roundtable session this year and was delighted by the number of delegates who were keen to examine the issue and contribute their ideas to the discussion. The session generated much thought and interesting ideas as to how councils could harness GI to improve the lives of their citizens.

Both the exhibition and roundtable session served to highlight the strength in depth of Azimap, introducing the product to a key audience in Great Britain and highlighting how it can be used to take informed, strategic and smart decisions.

We would like to thank everyone who attended GeoPlace last week and all who took the time to visit our stand or attend our roundtable discussion. If you were unable to attend or would like to learn more about Azimap, consider checking out the latest updates or arranging a personalised demonstration to see for yourself how you can create the maps that matter to your organisation.
